The next MCJC Book Club meeting will be February 13 at 7:00 pm at MCJC. The book up for discussion is On Division by Goldie Goldbloom.
The novel features a wonderfully complex example of what it means to be an Orthodox Jew in modern times. A 57-year-old Chasidic woman in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, anticipating the birth of her first great-grandchild, feels exposed and ashamed by a late-in-life pregnancy that slowly separates her from her community.
The discussion will be led by Rachel Kamin, and all are invited to attend.
