Preparing for the High Holy Days: An Exploration of Ancient and Contemporary Jewish Wisdom – Part I

September 4 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The High Holy Days have the power to enrich and transform our lives. We have an opportunity to become aware, deeply aware, of how fragile life is. To open our eyes to the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. And to know we are all an intimate part of God’s creative powers. Together, as a community, we celebrate our opportunity to bring the Divine into our lives. This is the High Holy Days, a festival of life.

Please join Rabbi Tom Samuels, McHenry County Jewish Congregation, in an exploration of themes of the High Holy Days and multi-layered meanings waiting to be discovered. Learn how to make these special days life-invigorating for yourselves, your families, and your communities.

Each session is offered twice on Wednesdays, at 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm, so you can choose whichever works best for you. All sessions meet at Panera Bread, 6000 Northwest Hwy, Crystal Lake, Illinois except for the 2:00 pm session, Wednesday, September 18, Part III.

These classes are open to the public and free of charge. Please register with us at mcjconline.org/event/high-holy-days (have to check this).
