Tisha B’Av Observance, Wednesday evening, July 26th, 8 pm, at MCJC

Tisha b’Av, the 9th of the month of Av, commemorates the destruction of the 1st Temple in Jerusalem in 586 B.C.E. and exile to Babylonia, the destruction of the 2nd Temple by the Romans in 70 C.E., and the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492.

Our observance will include the mournful chant of the Book of Lamentations, English readings, and song, led by Rabbi Maralee Gordon.
