Membership
A synagogue is a place where you want to feel at home, nourished, nurtured and spiritually fulfilled; a place where your soul, heart and head are touched. It is a place where you and your children feel a sense of relevance. It is a place where you are safe, where you are stimulated, and where you will find a welcoming community.
Membership at MCJC is not just about paying your annual dues. It’s about affirming your role as a partner and stakeholder, and sharing your time, talent, and treasure with a community of which you are a vital part. When you become a member of MCJC, you are able to fully experience this dynamic congregation in three ways:
•SPIRITUALITY: Our worship combines traditional Jewish liturgy with joyous dance and song. We are a house of worship for all people. All are welcome.
•COMMUNITY: We are a community of spiritual seekers. In joining this congregation, our members are making a statement: “This is my spiritual home.”
•WISDOM: MCJC seeks to deepen your knowledge of our faith, our traditions, our community, and our lives. It is Jewish learning, elevated.

MEMBERSHIP, SCHOOL, BAR/BAT MITZVAH, BUILDING FUND
Participation in the MCJC School and Bar/Bat Mitzvah require Membership. Building Fund is payable over five years.

Membership dues at McHenry County Jewish Congregation are legally considered donations. If you are concerned that your membership dues are not being processed properly, please reach out to MCJC and we will confirm that your membership is active!
