The MCJC social action community service committee is participating in the McHenry County Department of Transportation's "Adopt-A-Highway" Program and the McHenry Count Conservation District's "Adopt-A-Trail" Program this summer and fall. Participating in these two community service programs entails picking up litter along Ridgefield Road between Country Club Road and Route 14 and along the Route 14 bike trail between Ridgefield Road and Lucas Road. Volunteers need to bring gloves. Other work supplies are provided.
