Food Pantry- by Bruce Weiss
MCJC members helped out at the Woodstock Drive-Thru Food Pantry on April 18 and May 16. Special thanks to Muriel Pick, Lou Dolmon, Donny Kohnke, Rabbi Maralee Gordon, Linda Puzzo, and Bruce Weiss for helping out on April 18. And many thanks to Linda Trachsler, Muriel Pick, Charles Mages,Tricia Atwater, and Bruce Weiss for helping out on May 16. Two hundred eleven families received boxes of food on April 18, and one hundred seventy-two families received boxes of food on May 16. The MCJC volunteers worked in partnership with the pantry with volunteers from St. Ann's Episcopal Church and Grace Lutheran Church.
The Woodstock Drive-Thru Food Pantry is a joint venture of the McHenry County Faith Leaders Collaborative and the Northern Illinois Food Bank. The pantry is located in the parking lot directly across the street from Woodstock High School at 501 W. South Street, and is open every other Monday between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. MCJC will also assist on June 13 (details to follow in our next Newsletter!)
