School News - by Davina Kelley
Religious school has successfully wrapped up for the summer. At the end of April, we studied the Ten Commandments. Students used tracing paper and colored pencils to make window hangings of the tablets that look like stained glass. They are beautiful.
On Closing Day we celebrated Israel. Ilene Kaye led us in patriotic songs and talked about her own trip to Israel. We learned about the Israeli flag and the meaning behind the blue and white colors on it. Then students made sand art bottles using blue and white sand. Closing Day ended with games and sidewalk chalk outside, a delicious lunch from our amazing Maintenance Men, and an incredible magician show. Additionally, Hebrew tutoring continued into May. It is exciting to see how far our students have come!
We were all thrilled to be able to have in-person religious school this year. Our students enjoyed learning about and celebrating Jewish holidays, engaging in various Judaica topics, and beginning or continuing Hebrew studies. We wish all a healthy, relaxing, and peaceful summer, and look forward to seeing everyone in the fall.
